Stephanie Hutter-Thomas, PhD, CPH, RPS

As the founder of Maverick Minds, LLC, I’m on a mission to shake up the way professionals in social sciences, human services, and workforce development learn, collaborate, and lead.

 

With a background spanning academic research, sociology and psychology instruction, and workforce coaching, I bring a no-nonsense, people-first approach to training and mentorship. I’ve helped launch and lead innovative research projects on health-risk behaviors like substance use, and educational interventions with institutions like Johns Hopkins University, West Virginia University, and the University of Maryland. My work has contributed to initiatives that have fueled policy discussions and service improvements for communities affected by addiction, mental health challenges, and systemic inequities.

 

My leadership extends into organizational development—I previously directed training programs for Maryland Coalition of Families, implementing evidence-based strategies to strengthen teams and enhance service delivery. I’m passionate about improving workplace culture, integrating CliftonStrengths and Partnering-Trust methodologies into professional development to help individuals and teams maximize their potential.

 

But I’m not just about theory—I’m about real-world impact. Whether I’m coaching a workforce team, consulting on research, or leading a workshop for educators and service providers, I bring a bold, innovative, and fiercely authentic perspective to every space I enter.

 

Through Maverick Minds, I help professionals and organizations cut through the noise, get real about challenges, and build sustainable solutions—all with a rebellious edge and a commitment to making learning engaging, impactful, and (dare I say) fun.
